Moving a page
Open the page and click Move to folder… on the Page tab, then pick where it
should go — say, an old post into archive. The page keeps its name, its type
and its history, and Orbit updates its relative image and link paths (such as
../../assets/photo.jpg) so they still work from the new folder.
A move shows as one change — “moved from …” in Unpublished — and goes to the preview and live sites as a whole: the page appears in its new folder and leaves the old one. Until you publish, undoing it in Changes puts the page back.
- Save any changes first; the button waits until the page is saved.
- You can move a page into a Blocked folder: blocking stops new pages, and moving an existing one (into an archive, say) is what blocking is for.
- The folder still has to be one your site reads from — a section that only takes top-level pages has nowhere to move to.
- Moving a page changes its URL (the folder is part of it), so links to the old address on other sites will stop working.
