Orbit MD 1.1.1: tidier editing

Orbit MD 1.1.1 is a tidy-up of the editing screen.

Details and Text

Each page now has two tabs. Details holds the form and Text holds the writing, and each gets the whole window, so a page with lots of fields no longer squeezes the text. Orbit remembers the tab you used last and switches when it helps: a field that needs fixing brings Details forward, and the formatting buttons bring Text forward. A page with no text yet has an Add body text button on its Text tab. Details and Text has more.

Lists

Lists now look like what they hold. Tags and other short words are chips you add by typing and pressing Enter. A list of images is a gallery of thumbnails. Groups of fields, such as FAQs, are cards that show one line each and open to edit. A gallery or a list of cards gets its own tab inside Details, so it doesn’t bury the simple fields. Lists shows each kind.

Smaller changes

The sidebar has a Collapse all button and bigger arrows. Fields appear in the order they’re written in the page. The window no longer scrolls sideways when it’s narrow, and a rare crash when a site’s sections loaded twice at once is fixed.
