Licence
Orbit MD is source-available under the Functional Source License.
Orbit MD is released under the Functional Source License, Version 1.1, ALv2 Future License (FSL-1.1-ALv2) — Copyright 2026 John Spurgin. The terms cover buying Pro and Team.
What that means for you
- Source-available, not "open source." The source code will be published so you can read it, learn from it and check exactly what the app does. It isn't public yet.
- Use it for your own work. You can use, copy and change Orbit MD for any purpose that isn't a competing product — including your own sites and the sites you build for clients.
- No competing product. You may not offer Orbit MD, or something that does substantially the same job built from it, as a commercial product or service.
- It becomes Apache-2.0. Each release automatically becomes available under the Apache-2.0 open-source licence two years after it ships.
The full licence is in LICENSE — it's also inside the app from version 1.0.3 — and at fsl.software. Third-party components included with Orbit MD keep their own licences, listed in thethird-party notices.
This page is a plain-language summary; the LICENSE file is the binding text.
